Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is an absolute delight from start to finish. The theming is perfect, from the gardens and music in the queue to Tiana’s kitchen as you get closer to your ride vehicle. I highly recommend everyone get on this ride at least once if you get the chance!
Without further adieu, here are my top tips for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
The lines for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure can range from 45 minutes (if you’re lucky) to over 2 hours (more likely). Many visitors opt to make this the first ride of the day (to hopefully avoid crowds) or the last ride of the day (so they can go back to the resort and change). I am personally a fan of getting on this ride at the end of the day, I’ve been incredibly lucky and have gotten to see the fireworks show from the top of the ride!
Florida is hot and humid for much of the year, so here are a few things I recommend to stave off meltdowns whilst in line:
One of the most common questions I hear surrounding this ride is: do you get wet on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? the short answer is: YES! Put anything that should not get wet in a waterproof bag or leave it in the stroller (if you’re bringing one). I highly recommend bringing only what’s absolutely necessary on the actual ride. Put everything you can into plastic bags to keep it from getting soaked.
The front row definitely gets the brunt of things. I kept my Loungefly backpack on my shins while riding front row last time and got SOAKED before we even reached the drop! My backpack did get a bit wet, unfortunately. I immediately handed it over my shoulder to my sister in law in the seat behind me, who kept it much drier (saving my digital camera in the process).
There’s no shame in being a poncho person, if you don’t want to get wet, wear the poncho! This is your Parks day, so you get to decide how you traverse it.
Take it from me: No one wants to walk around in wet denim all day. It makes for a downright miserable experience! If you wear denim to the park, bring a change of clothes! It’ll keep you from buying clothes at the Emporium on Main Street.
Also, buy a poncho BEFORE you get into the park, and wear it on the ride. Ponchos at Disney are WAY overpriced; buy them before your trip! Or, if you travel via the Turnpike, grab some at a service station on the way.
Final tip: bring dry socks in your backpack! A full day of wet socks is just about as miserable as a full day in wet denim.
If you only take away one thing from this post, let it be this: there is a VERY real possibility that you’ll get wet on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Every time I’ve been on this ride it’s varied. I’ve gotten away barely splashed, and I’ve had the equivalent of a bucket of water dumped on my lap, both times in the front row!
To conclude, be prepared to:
If this ride has less than an hour wait, it’s definitely worth it! Between the colors, the music, and the lush scenery, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a ride that’s perfect for the whole family! (Provided everyone is tall enough to ride it).
