Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs- Tips and Review

Spread the love

Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs is one of the must-dos on a trip to Orlando. Their social media famous cookies and cakes are what give them one of the longest waits in Disney Springs. Read on for my tips and review for Gideon’s Bakehouse!

Gideon’s Tips

  1. Get to Disney Springs early.
    1. The earlier you get there, the sooner you can get yourself in the virtual queue. Once you secure your spot, you can proceed with your day as usual, with shopping and food- and they’ll notify you via text when it’s time to return to the line! The earlier you’re able to get in, the more likely certain flavors will still be available.
  1. Make restaurant reservations in advance.
    1. I was able to get into Gideon’s because we checked into the queue just before our dinner reservation at Raglan Road just across the way from Gideon’s Bakehouse, and our wait time was estimated at 3 hours. Well, after dinner and a quick trip to Goofy’s Candy Company, it was time to return to the line! Having reservations will take the stress out of your trip to Disney Springs and help your wait time go by faster.
  1. Be Ready to wait.
    1. This is perhaps the best Gideon’s Bakehouse tip I can give. You WILL have to wait no matter what, so plan to be there for the day and fill it with food and shopping so the time goes by fast. Otherwise, you’ll just end up frustrated while waiting for those magical sweets.

Gideon’s Bakehouse Review

Now that we’ve gone over Gideon’s Bakehouse tips, it’s time for a little review. The only other time I’ve had a Gideon’s cookie was YEARS ago when the only place you could get them in Disney Springs was at The Polite Pig. Years later, they’re still the same perfectly chewy chocolate chip cookies I remember. The original chocolate chip cookie is MASSIVE (as are all their cookies) and absolutely COVERED in chocolate chips. They’re fully cooked but still just doughy enough in the center to make a cookie dough lover like myself absolutely melt with joy. Word to the wise: if you get them during the day, either eat them quickly or keep them cool, because they will melt in the Florida heat!

The inside is delightfully Tim Burton-esque, with something to look at in every corner of the store. The more you look, the more little details you’ll notice! Overall, Gideon’s is well worth the wait. They’re generally around $6 a cookie, so keep that in mind when looking at all the delicious desserts they have to offer!
