Spread the love

Fall is fast approaching, which means it’s time for students everywhere to get ready to go back to school. And with that comes one of the best parts of getting ready for school: choosing your back to school outfits. Every year choosing my back to school outfits felt like the opportunity to reinvent myself and actively choose who I was going to be that year. I’m a long way from my school days, but I’m still here to help you put together the back to school outfits of your dreams!

Wanda Maximoff (Wandavision

If you’re looking to bring some power and a pop of color to your back to school outfits, Wanda is your gal. Wandavision showcased an amazing variety of fashion through the decades, so you’ll have a lot to choose from! To channel your inner Wanda, go with a red statement piece, and add something of sentimental value like a favorite piece of jewelry to keep you connected to your loved ones throughout the day. You can also NEVER go wrong with a cool jacket of your choice.

Toni Topaz (Riverdale

Channel your inner Toni with outfits on the edgier side. Lots of dark colors are key here, and you can never go wrong with a classic leather jacket. Dark wash or black jeans (or shirts) with a flannel around your waist, and a black top with some layered jewelry will have you radiating Toni’s vibes in no time. For some extra flair, add a pop of rose gold to represent her hair.

Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)

Elle is definitely the pick for those who want to channel her determination and motivation to get into Harvard (or just do well in school!). You can choose to channel Elle through her signature color pink or through her professional yet fun law school clothing repertoire. The key here is to wear something that makes you feel that same confidence Elle radiates on her journey to and through law school!

Ashley Banks (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Ashley Banks epitomizes cool casual outfits that are perfect for school. You can easily incorporate her energy into your back to school outfits with a good pair of light wash jeans and some chunky shoes or opt for a cropped cardigan and matching tank top. Capture her artistic and independent energy by adding a bold accessory that makes you feel like you can take on the world.

Rachel Green (Friends

You can’t have a list about back to school outfits and leave off one of the queens of 90s fashion. Since the resurgence in 90s styles Rachel’s outfits have been remade and re-envisioned in a variety of ways, she has the perfect aesthetic to either dress up or dress down for school. You could go with her more casual looks (and swap a skirt for a skort so you don’t have to worry when walking up the stairs at school. Lord knows that was a CONSTANT fear for me) or translate one of her more dressed up looks to fit your personal back to school style.

Rue Bennett (Euphoria)

Rue’s style leans more casual, and since she’s a high school student a lot of her outfits can be easily translated to back to school outfits. You could opt for a crop top and button-down print, or a graphic tee with biker shorts. Just don’t forget to check your school’s dress code before deciding to wear a crop top for the day (my school would have never allowed it). If your school’s dress code prohibits crop tops, go for a regular tank top instead, and try your hand at some Euphoria eye makeup to really catch Rue’s vibe.

Peter Parker (Spider-Man)

Next up, we have Peter Parker. Peter Parker has the quintessential school wardrobe. Largely made of basics like school shirts and hoodies, you can spice up this style with a graphic tee of your choice. Or, if you want more of a nod to his Spidey side, throw in some red, blue, and black.  You can wear a plaid button-down shirt over a graphic tee, with khaki pants and sneakers, and boom! You’ve got yourself a Peter Parker-inspired outfit.

Prudence Blackwood (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Prudence’s outfits are perfect for those looking for goth with a twist. Her style is preppy gothic through and through- utilizing lace and tweed with darker accents to complete the overall look. For the classic look, go for a dark-colored dress with a white Peter Pan collar. For a more casual look, you can’t go wrong with a white v-neck, some black pants, and a bold, dark lip color.

Klaus Hargreeves (Umbrella Academy

Now onto Klaus. All black everything, with a pop of pink. Teachers and school admin might frown upon wearing a pink feather boa to school, but you never know till you try! If you’re not in the mood for all black, you can opt for a cutoff jacket (vest, but not a fancy vest. More like a denim vest) with a casual tee and black pants. If you have a jacket that you love (ideally something a little ostentatious) go ahead and add that to any all-black outfit, and you’ve got Klaus’ vibe.

Zoey Johnson (Grownish

Zoey’s outfits are amazing. She has an outfit for every vibe and style you could possibly want. Her style is definitely chic, even when it’s casual. When in doubt, you can never go wrong with a matching set to make you feel completely put together. Don’t be afraid to try out different prints as well! Zoey likes to rock different prints and textures all the time, so as long as you like it, go ahead and try it!
