I found myself in a bit of a creative rut recently.

To combat this, I decided to try something a little different for me. I called it: aesthetic roulette. I used two online spinners, one with a list of fandoms/topics, and one with a list of aesthetics. Whichever combination the wheels picked, that’s what I would create an outfit based on! This week it was “DC Universe” and “E-girl” aesthetic.

I’d never really delved into the e-girl aesthetic despite being really interested in it, I honestly thought I would look like I was trying too hard. I did think this was the perfect time to do an e-girl tribute to Battinson though, whom I am extremely excited to see on the big screen in 2022.

After doing some Pinterest research, I found the blueprint for my e-girl aesthetic outfit. Thankfully I still had my Batman shirt from college and fishnet tights from Rocky Horror- I completed the outfit with my black tennis skort from Amazon and an old OLD Faded Glory long-sleeved white shirt underneath the Batman top.

I’m really glad I made this challenge for myself because in the end, I felt like a badass. It’s probably the most different from myself that I’ve ever looked, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It was really fun to go that far out of my comfort zone for a video/some photos. If you’re looking to try out the e-girl aesthetic, I highly recommend it! It’s a fun challenge to see what you already have in your closet that fits the e-girl look, and allows you to get creative in ways you hadn’t thought of before.
